For those in the know, the NSB Duke of Edinburgh Silver practice expedition is this weekend. So this week is a good time to get those last minute items you’ve forgotten or in the case of myself – everything.
Way back on one of our Saturday outings we ventured into Northampton’s very own Home Bargains, where I saw some camping stuff while we were in there when Becky Robinson… who dragged me and Jordan round there. So I went there today with Jordan and Siobhan tagging along and got myself some bargains. £5.49 in total for a sleeping bag and roll mat. Result. Ideal for the camper man on a budget (But not like Graham Norton now I’d Do Anything is over).
The same set up from somewhere like Millets would cost about £33 on the cheapest ranges for the sleeping bag and roll mat, both of which bear striking resemblances with my Home Bargain lot.
So I propose a game – the Home Bargains Challenge. Can a cheapo outrun the chique? Well, you’ll soon find out come my blog about the whole expedition when I get back from it. God I hope it does…
