Last.fm Love

So I need to make a post to keep you all interested. I mean, so far this week, I’ve posted the nerdiest thing ever. So what can I do to top that? Oh, post something almost equally nerdy.

Last.fm, babeh.

Recently, I’ve been playing with Last.fm a little more. For those who don’t know – Last.fm is a website used to find new music based on your current and developing tastes. If you download the little Audioscrobbler tool, then listen to your music, it notes it down. It analyses its qualities and such, and suggests songs and bands which you should like also.

Unfortunately, while ‘playing’, I’ve managed to break the iPod scrobbling. Silly me. But while trying to find a way to fix it, I’ve come across build.last.fm. It’s basically a site which collects together all the funky tools people have made based on Last.fm.

A fancy little Last.fm friends graph. My favourite little tool thing is, by far, is Last.fm Tools by Shoxrocks.

On their website, they have many a way of making funky images and displaying the information in a funky new way. Just seeing similar artists graphically makes a real change. Love it. :)

The next little bit of awesome is quilt.fm. Again, it’s another graphical type thing, but it gives an interactive version of your last.fm "quilt" (That is, a patchwork of album art of your favourite artists/songs). Clicking on it brings up their page, so you can find out their tour dates or new releases. Sweet.

last fm screensaver Staying with the whole quilt idea, if you’re looking for a screensaver, go and have a gander at is the Rokr Screensaver from Motorola. Okay, so it’s essentially one big ad (not to mention crashes MSN it seems) but it’s prettyful.

I’m sure there’s plenty more out there, but they’re just a few which tickled my fancy. Go find me on Last.fm and see what I’m listening to, too. You might just find some awesome songs. :)
