7 Things Review – February

Is it the end of February already? Blimey. I knew February was short, but still, where did the month go? I blame any lack of progress on this fact, okay? :)

It’s been a fairly awesome month as far as… months go, anyway. Nothing disastrous has happened, really, for me at least. So that’s quite awesome. I don’t feel progressed as a person, but that comes with time, I suppose. So lets get down to the nitty-gritty…

My posture

My least Dale Winton-style pose of the lot I took for this section... Right. So not much has changed from January’s story, really. If anything I’m shifting my posture more when I’m sitting down doing nothing personally, like when watching TV.

Recent school work means I’m at my desk more than ever now. I still don’t have a new chair or desk, and to be frank I don’t think I’ll be getting one any time soon. I’ll do the best I can with the resources available.

All in all, my posture still sucks. I’m still catching my reflection in things and reminding myself of some sort of sloth. Maybe something to do with my generic hairstyle, still. I don’t know.

Lack of henchness

Who knew I was actually Usain Bolt...? It’s pointed out to me on an almost daily basis by someone, be them Chinese or child-like. I’m still not hench, and not by a long way.

I’m getting there, slowly but surely. As I’ve been told by Simon and Will (Who, lets face it, are masters in the art), I’m not keen enough in the gym. John even hated me before half-term for my general sarcastic negativity when using the machines. Confidence grows when a gym veteran injures themselves and they have to come down to your level of working. They find out what it’s like to suck majorly.

In January, I did a bit of a parallel stretch every morning. Holding it as long as I could. This month is focusing more on press-ups. It’s not exactly keened out like it could be, but all it involves is five in the morning, five when I get back from school, five sometime randomly during the night and five when I just go to sleep. It’s hardly anything, but I like to think I’m doing something.

I’ve also started following this Hundred Push-ups programme online. Apparently it’s good, and it feels like it’s doing something, even if I have only completed Week One so far. I’ve had a peek. It gets harder. But I’ll keep at it, for as long as I keep getting asked to do press-ups randomly by people…

Poor excuse for style

I'm the Douchebag of the Day. Ahah. Finally. I got some new stuff to wear. Yeehaw. My car might be low on fuel, but at least I get to look awesome while hitch-hiking.

My trainers were in a sorry state. Thanks to Jake’s Birthday Paintball back in late December, my ‘going out’ trainers were all but a mess. They were only about a tenner from that cheapo shoe shop in the Grosvenor Centre, but I liked them.

I scrubbed them up, so I can wear them again, but now I have some fantastic little slip on shoes which are amazing. Thanks mum. :p

I also got some nice fancy (albeit cheap) clothes from Tesco for Tanya’s party. Perhaps I shouldn’t have just admitted I’m a cheapskate when it comes to clothes for a party, but yeeeah…

My nerdy lifestyle

I'm singing, not posing. Honest. Ignoring the fact that I went to watch people play a Humans vs. Zombies game, participated in a  giant Facebook snowball fight and partake in Hug A Chinese Person day, this month’s been pretty nerd-less.

I’ve sold a few of my Xbox 360 games to try and raise some money for fun times. But alas, I seem to be spending it all on random stuff or petrol. Neither of which directly link themselves to fun times. Sad times. :(

Mainly thanks to Google totally owning me and refusing to pay me any of my AdSense revenue for seemingly no reason, I’ve had no reason to update SocialElement recently. I’m thinking of making another website to replace it. Any ideas? Something awesome, fun, and you’d actually use.

Oh, and something that would earn me some money. :)

My Hairstyle

I accidently deleted the picture I was going to use, so here's one where I imitate Fran off Plurk... The puffy bits are still in my hair (as you can quite clearly see in this picture), but now it’s longer, it’s starting to become more wearable. My ‘new found hairstyle’ is possible again, now I can drag the hair on the side of my head forward. Half the time it’s part-bed-hair, so it doesn’t look great.

I didn’t get a haircut or anything this month, I don’t think. I feel so trampy.

Social ineptness

Oh. Hai. Fun fun happy times. I had so much fun stuff planned to do, which ended up not happening, I just sat around by myself. Fun.

In the half-term, there was supposed to be a party for Christy’s 18th, where I could meet awesome people like Andy again. Haha. Shame that never happened. I always wondered how he was…

Then there was Jordan’s planned Singstar thingy. That never happened neither. Thankfully, John suggested Pizza Hut and Simon said we should do it. Even though it meant me wasting about a fiver in fuel ferrying them all around, we had fun. I didn’t meet anyone new, but hey, it’s better than being sat at home.

When this goes live I should be out on the town. Really I’m at John’s work friend Tanya’s 18th birthday party at Molly’s, but it makes me sound more like a pimp if I say it the other way. Hopefully there’s some awesome people there I could give a cheesy wave to.

Bates is thinking of something for March, where I might be able to see Hayley and Michelle again with some fun laser tag action going on too. Hey, March may be the month for this section.

Not a risk-taker

Only the cool kids smash up Guitar Hero controllers. Okay, this I can’t really seem to improve. How can you set yourself out to take more risks, anyway? Pfft. Silly me setting a stupid seventh goal…

I suppose I’m taking a risk by not taking Stats again. This basically means I need to ace C1, C2 and M1 to be in with a chance of going to Bournemouth University with Andy. I’m revising like hell, so I should do it, but here’s hoping.

Apart from that, I’m not really taking all that many risks. Maybe I should play Chicken more often. Yeah. That sounds like a plan…

Who’d a thunk we’re a sixth of the way through 2009 already, eh? Time flies, I suppose.

I’m sorry about before half-term. I had another reason as well but whatever. Over it now.
    Who’s the gym veteran? :O
The Hundred Pushups thing looks pretty useful. I might take up that challenge but time is very short for me these days. :/

[About Nerdy lifestyle]I must point out that I never got a hug from you on that day! :P

[About Social ineptness]I’m sorry about wasting your fuel. D:
The Laser tag thing sounds fun. We’ll see things go…

    @John:

The one where you run across lanes of traffic.
