For lack of a more imaginative title, seeing as it’s currently 16 past midnight, today (or rather now, yesterday) was Sunday. A day of rest. A day of collection and rejoice. Also, a bloody good day for a picnic.
Last night me and Nadine were like "Argh, what can we do tomorrow?", when she suggested seeing Jordan at work. She suggested it as Jordan says nobody’s ever visited him at work. So why not. It only seems natural. Then we sort of changed it into a picnic idea.
We tried to recruit people but, at such short notice, and it being a weekend, most people were busy. We managed to get Simon on board, but we needed to pick him up.
We stopped off at Tesco Express to get supplies. Mainly, two bottles of coke, lots of cake, crisps, Liquorice Allsorts and Haribo. Sorted, I think. Alcohol was pondered, but rejected seeing as, well, Salcey Forest isn’t perhaps the best place to do that sort of thing, and I can’t because I’m the driver. Lame.
But anyway. We roll in to Forest car-park, armed with all the items needed to make for awesome things, such as speakers and a camera, but Nadine’s phone ran out of battery, and mine had no credit, so we couldn’t share the happiness. Never mind. I’m pretty sure the trees block the loving anyway.
We went along the tree-top walk, took some pictures and such like. Nadine kept poking me, and when I poked her back, I poked her in a place which really shouldn’t be poked. I’m sorry, I should really pay more attention in the future.
Then we met up with Jordan, where we sat and chatted for a bit. Then we played on the playthings like the big kids we are. Yeah. We get stuck in the small bits, but the slide was certainly fun. The swing things… definitely not made for guys in mind. Ouch.
Then in a fit of wondering what to do, we end up down Sixfields again, to play pool. I managed to lose to Nadine and Jordan, but win against Simon who won both of his games? How does that work? Some stupid law of physics. Murphy’s, probably.
I gave people lifts home after that. Nadine gave me a good talking to before she’d leave. Not in, like, a mean way, but we had a nice little natter. She wants to meet Timi, bless. That could be interesting.
So that’s pretty much my weekend. Wonder what this free weekend has in it for me…
