Wahey. It’s May. Home of May Day and my mum’s birthday. It didn’t quite oscillate like I hoped it would last month, but it certainly didn’t carry on the whole "April showers" sort of thing I had going on – both physically and metaphorically.
So then. How’s May, today?
My posture
Wow. This is a section which, even though it comes top of the list, I always seem to forget about until the month comes to an end. When I’ve had the chance, I’ve postured it up while sitting and standing. Really, it’s gotten to the stage where I rarely slump, but it’s just me sticking my head out like a pillock which makes it look like I have bad posture.
It’s revision time. Any fool will tell you that sitting at a desk for a long time is a bad idea for multiple reasons (one of which is that you actually slowly degenerate into a pile of mush). Revision > my posture, I’ll have to say right now. I have the rest of the year to mess around with the S-shaped back figure, but not all year to cram for a uni course. So yeah. Priorities and all that.
Lack of henchness
Yeah. I think I don’t make enough of an idiot out of myself on my blog, apparently…
To be fair, the heaviest weight I’ve lifted in a long time is a mug filled with tea. Since school ended, I’ve had no real regime to follow in terms of fitness and, while factoring in binging on energy for revision purposes, I spot a belly coming on.
To be fair, I have had a fair go at fitness when I’ve had the time. Going in to use the school gym the first week of study leave… that random day of exercise I did… playing that Wii "game" my mum got for her birthday (which is seriously knackering if you actually listen to the annoying woman)… it’s sort of exercise. Although, it’s no real substitute to say that I’ve been henching out. I think Simon’s stolen my share.
Poor excuse for style
This month has, again, been lacking in clothing. Well, major purchases, anyway.
Those 40% off coupons from John came in handy. I got myself a nice blue shirt (which I can’t seem to find anymore. Bummer.) and a belt which is cool looking, but is slightly too small for me. Meh. You win some, you lose some. But it’s my birthday next month. People always buy me clothes then.
I don’t know if it counts, but I got an NSB Leavers hoodie from school. It’s comfy. You’ll see it in a picture soon, I’m thinking…
My nerdy lifestyle
Hmm… there’s very little this month that’s been overly nerdy.
I mean there’s normal nerdy – Revision. Normal nerdy as everyone has to do at least some of it, so it’s become acceptable.
The most nerdy thing I’ve done this month was probably what I did today. Blow off my friends for revision. Okay, it needs doing, but still. Fun times are fun times. You need to take them when you can. Ehh. Nothing to do about it now.
I’ve spent many a night out in a very un-nerdy fashion this month. Notably things like playing 40-40 in around Will’s house which – while somewhat childish – playing it at midnight isn’t.
My hairstyle
I didn’t actually get my hair cut again? What the hell? Trampy. I think it’s because I see it day to day and it annoys me and I say "I’ll get that cut", wash it and it ends up cool looking after that and I’m like "…I’ll leave it for a bit."
It’s just getting long now. I mean, notice how I cunningly choose an angle where the mullet doesn’t show up in the picture. Yes. I have a mullet going on now and I hate it.
I think I’ll go to a new hairdressers somewhere. I might pay a visit to Simon’s hairdressers. They look really good… apparently…
Social ineptness
Ahh, the joys of owning a car. One major thing is that you get random crap from nights out just left in it. One which has stayed the course is this bunny thing which was won in a grabber machine at Tenpin. While it was won to help me get the snake, I never actually got the snake. But yeah, this lovely pink rabbit got decapitated by Bates and put back together oh-so-lovingly with a drawn on face and a "<3 Matt" on its stomach Teletubbies-style. You can see how it’s "meant" to look over on Facebook.
But really. Sixfields has become a bit of a social haven for me as of late. It even has its own Facebook group dedicated to it. Lots of fun times have happened over there. Many seemingly in the McDonalds car park but, well, yes. Bates does have a thing for shoes…
Let’s just hope we can keep the good times rolling though the month of my birthday, eh?
Not a risk-taker
Hmm. Hmm. I think I’m doing the exact opposite of this for this month, and I’m actually making sure I’ve covered all bases for these exams next month. While it doesn’t bode well for the present, it makes sure I actually have a future, so it’s worth it in my opinion.
I think the riskiest thing this month is putting that facial expression in a picture I’m uploading to my blog. I mean, come on, seriously, what the hell’s going on there…
So there’s May for you. Nothing really exciting, but I’m pretty sure next month holds something entirely awesome for me. While I am, now, going to Canada in August, we’ll see if we can bridge July to be awesome too.
Till next time, kids.

lol (at pretty much all of it, good post xD)
