Cast your mind back to a couple of weeks back. You may have read Childhood Lives., one of my various blog posts where I rummaged through the stuff under my bed. At the end I said I had half of the stuff to go through and, well, I went through it.
So come with me as I blearily stumble down Memory Lane.
For my Facebook friends, a quick peek in the Old School photo album will reveal a rather snazzy photo of me with a rather bright green NTFC kit on. But the thing is I was standing next to James Hunt who is – according to my mum – a bloody good midfielder. He’s presenting this to me, and now I have it in my mitts once more, nine years down the line. Good times.
Ah, back to some more KMS stuff. Looky here. I was the best in the class for ADT (That’s Art, Design and Technology to you simpletons). Why yes it is the same class I made that turtle clock in. Thanks for noticing.
Notice how I’m slyly hiding the other certificate behind it. That’s a certificate for scoring 2/5 in the National Standard for PE. Thanks Ms Heap. Now go back to doing those million sneezes you do…
I had totally forgot we got a yearbook for KMS. Mainly because it consisted of a list of all the staff who worked there, a drawing of the school, lots of ‘fill in the blank’ "Favourite _____" bits and a signing page, which we all just ignored and got our shirts signed anyway. It’s funny, apart from the typical signings from Daniel and Harry, there’s one which sticks out. "All the best for the future – Dianne Tebbutt". That’s the only teacher signature in it and, well, that’s the only KMS teacher that went to NSB. I even had her for Enrichment in Year 12. Golly. Memories…
Oh. Right. These came from being a good attendee, that totally fictitious poem I ‘wrote’ which got into the Northamptonshire poem book, donating some money to keep KMS open (Fail.) and that ADT certificate you saw earlier. Truth is I never spent them and they’re null and void now. Well, there’s no specific date on them, but I know WHSmith use those swipe cards now…
Ahh, another little moment of fame from KMS times. It was a little segment the Chron did about KMS closing down as we moved to a 2-tier education system. There’s a nice little story on the history of the school, like it’s the middle school of Jo Wiley and… that one that used to be in Hustle…
Anyway, you can see the picture of me bigger on Facebook and you can just make out some small little Asian character. Why… I think that’s Ted sitting down there…
Now this is nice, seeing as I thought I’d lost it. This little chap was made with my Nan a few days before she went into hospital and sadly died. Okay, people die, I get it. But it’s sad to see someone as awesome as that have to leave us. Although I’m glad I still have this little chap to remind me of the awesome days spent with her. Good old Nanny Crouch. Bless her.
Holy Moses. Who Shot Hepburn? Right, let’s set the scene. You’re in Year 9 when all of a sudden your English teacher disappears for ages. What’s your immediate reaction? Note down all the supplies you have and make a flash game as to who shot her? Exactly. Great minds think alike.
Unfortunately the URL on the ever-so-fancy contact card doesn’t work anymore, my cunning detective work found a mirror over at Geocities. So here, go visit while you can – Geocities is dying soon.
But yeah. I think you people voted Mr Hecker as the one who dunnit.
I still have Who Shot Hooson on my computer which is, arguably, way cooler. You can see it here but, well, I’ll keep the teaser trailer to myself, I think…
(The Living End play in the background. Must’ve been around the same time I met Eric then. Woot.
)
Ahh, where were we… we were in Spain or something, and there was this typical tourist shop below our hotel. They sold these crappy badges I just had to get a couple to remember the times. One says "Save Gas. Far in a jar." and the other says "I’m a Forets fan and I hate sheep shaggers." Do they not have quality control there?
So yes. I kind of had to stop there because I got distracted by me bleeding after getting further in. Right on the thumb. Sad times. But yes. Good times overall, thanks to the wonders of nostalgia. Amen to that.

Ah who shot hepburn, such fun, i still remember Mr Fonville for all of 2 lessons in his massive blue suit lol
