Childhood lives.

The other day (in fact, I think it was Saturday.) I had a rummage through the stuff under my bed. Under my bed is highly organised boxes of stuff from yesteryear all bundled together. There lives my newspaper cuttings, letters from friends and of course my Game Boy Colour. But what I didn’t know was the actual contents of these boxes.

So I found out.

"Let it RIP!" - Too cool. The first box I come across had so much crap in it, but within them were these little gems. I had Master Dranzer, Draciel and… some other black and purple one. I combined them to make the beasty looking Beyblade pictured. Yes, before you asked, it totally owned everyone else’s ones back in KMS, when playing in a drawer when it was raining. I’m thinking it was something to do with the ball-bearing system going on, or the rather hench looking loader… thing I remember getting for Christmas one year. Fun times.

Best. Kid. Evar. Next up is my good kid past. Ahh, memories.

Obviously, as most of you know, I used to go to the Boy’s Brigade. Well, I went up until the Company section, so I did Anchor Boys and Juniors – both of which I supervise now on Wednesdays. Anyway, pictured is the Best 1st, 2nd and 3rd Year Junior trophies I got. I didn’t even realise I was Best Boy for the three years of Juniors there is. Now there’s something I can tell the little kiddies next time I see them…

Pika-pika! Now I remember loving wasting my time with this thing. It’s called a Mini Pikachu or something, and it’s basically a Tamagotchi but with a Pikachu. It’s shaped like an old-school Game Boy and pretty much plays like one too.

What you did was you clipped it onto your belt and walked around. I think every 500 steps you got a present from Pikachu (don’t quote me on that though), and it’d be like money to spend on the mini games, or a new toy or something. Obviously what I did was sat there and shook it to make things happen before Pikachu needed yet another bath.

Cobblers, innit. So here’s the start of all of the mental sort of poses with the items.

Here’s a (slightly deflated) ball from the time I was mascot thanks to my sister being on ‘Lucky Line 9′ on Northants 96, back in the day. Unfortunately I don’t know who half the people who signed it are, but I remember David Seal, who I said was my favourite player one time because seals were my favourite animal. Ahah. Good times.

FLORIDAAA These are tickets from my trip to Florida a while back. I thought it was my first ever blog post done from there, but it turns out I didn’t even have my blog back then. :o

We went to Busch Gardens, which has the best roller coasters in it, along with some other places like Discovery Cove, where I swam with dolphins (well, one of the two times, anyway ^^) and Sea World, where we got to go behind the scenes of Shamu’s little show thing and get decent seats for Shamu Rocks America – their lovely little night-time extravaganza. They also have good rides, which certainly aren’t for the faint-hearted. Yeah. Go to Florida if you ever get the chance.

DT Tennis, with me looking like a monkey for some reason. Right. Now. Classic memories. Pictured here is one bat and one ball from DT Tennis. DT Tennis is just one of the various sports me, Jack, Carl and Adam sort of made up and played in DT.

DT Tennis involved two pieces of wood we’d practiced making finger joints on as paddles, and the blocks we’d cut out of them as the balls. Basically, hit it to each other, and the one who doesn’t return the ball loses. Simple as.

The classic DT game was DT golf which pretty much involved kicking a small block of wood from one side of the workshop to a goal the other side (such as a door stop of fire extinguisher). You had to do it in the least amount of kicks possible. By the end we knew the quickest route wasn’t the most obvious, but around the outside of the workshop. Two kicks. Sorted.

Nerdy titled books FTW. Hacker was a book I got off the Internet because I wasn’t quite sure what book to do for an English project. I got it because it was cheap and meant I didn’t have to do a book someone else could be doing, but I ended up really liking it. It’s one of the only books that actually kept my distracted mind entertained. Go figure.

The storyline was something like this kid noticed money was going out of his savings account, or something. So he did some research and found out his aunty and uncle were stealing money from people while his parents were on holiday, and using their details. So he tries to be one step ahead of them and beat them at their own game. He does it, I think, but that could also be total rubbish. It obviously stuck in my mind…

But here’s some stuff that doesn’t really have a history…

TARDIS moneyboxPokemon the First Movie - With free Mewtwo trading card. :o Pokemon the Third movie Pokedex. Lol. Pikachu's Winter Vacation, Sing Along Songs and Doug's First Movie <3

So yeah. I love memories. I’ve still got half the things under my bed to go, but that can serve as a distraction from revision. Sorted. :)

EDIT: I’ve got my DT turtle clock working again. It was a project in Year 8, which is clearly disastrous, but it’s disastrous in a cute way.

Oooh yeeeahh...

    Awwwww – that’s so sweet =)

Under my bed, I only have a disassembled computer; not really the same sentimental value =P

I don’t keep my stuff under my bed… but I do have some things that carry a lot of memories… mostly, writting and stories and letters that were sent to me XD.

Your clock looks more like a dinosaur than a turtle by the way…
