It’s been almost a year since the Northampton Flashmob team organised their first (and arguably, most epic) Pirate flashmob. Simplicity was the key. You run in, you pretend to be a pirate, you die, you get back up again. It wasn’t exactly rehearsed. Well, for what could be the last flashmob I participate in, simplicity is not a word they like to hear.
It’s called the Thriller Flashmob. Wonder why? Well, just have a gander at this:
’80s Dances: How To Do The Thriller
Okay, we’re not going back to the 80s, we’re doing the Thriller dance as a massive group. How epic is that?
In the traditional style of the Northampton Flashmob group, it’s going to be pretty spontaneous, causing confusion and dismay to onlookers.
It’s going to be done in the event area… bit… thing in the Market Square like the last one was.
You can learn the whole dance thanks to a little site made for ‘Thrill The World’ – a worldwide record breaking attempt to get the most people doing the dance at one time. Their record was something like 4000. But whatever, just get learning the dance moves.
You’ll need to learn them by Saturday June 11th at 2:15pm. You know the rules from the previous ones. Try not to linger around the space too early, otherwise it gets suspicious. Just arrive and join in right when it starts. Like Ian, the (very unofficial) motto is anything spontaneous. So even if you don’t know the dance, just have a moment to yourself dancing away to the king of Pop.
See you there, hopefully.
EDIT: Well, it happened. See a lovely little clip of it right… here.

Spread it like Wildfire, i’ve just watched some other videos, and am a little nervous….
