7 Things Review – November

It doesn’t feel all that long ago I wrote the last one. Well, it was only last month, but let’s gloss over that fact. I haven’t really done a lot this month, but I can see next month – the final 7 Things post evarrr – being where the plan comes together. We shall see, though, won’t we.

Obviously, having the ability to do whatever I want (besides murder) has lead to things slipping, but we shall see how badly right now. Prepare to feel that sense of "Yep, I totally knew that was going to happen"…

My posture

Let's do the twist! Surprise, surprise. It’s number one on my list, but I’ve done nothing about it. What can you do to improve it, besides some sort of masseuse or something? I don’t know.

Work’s properly started, IMP style. So that means sitting at the laptop for a few hours a day more than usual. As a result, posture a capital C would be proud of. But hey, as per health and safety guidelines (that and there’s only so much reading I can do) I get up and have a wonder around and make a nice cuppa. Yeah, I’m totally British. But I’m still more awesome than you.

Lack of henchness

See, I'm pulling this face because it's so much effort moving my arm up that high. Jesus... Hmm. Dolphin Pool opened this time last week, so I could see that as my window of opportunity to get back on the bandwagon. I went on Friday, and it was decidedly average. I do like swimming, but it’s the cost that’s getting me. Maybe I could try swimming in Poole Park… actually, scratch that…

When I said I’d go running around Poole Park I meant… any time soon. Yeah. Any time around now. I do the occasional little unique workout routine, but obviously nothing to rival that of Mr Thompson or… anyone else who’s ever done exercise.

I’d usually just shrug it off and say "If it’s not fun, it’s not worth doing in life", but the cheap chocolate offer they have on at Sainsbury’s say otherwise. It’s BOGOF, so it’s "One for me, one for the Christmas pile". Bad move, Sainsbury’s, but thanks for the Nectar points.

Poor excuse for style

I are British. Yeah, the coat I got last month? That’s still awesome, although it seems like it doesn’t like stormy weather. Emits that new car smell when it’s wet. I’m not complaining, I like the smell. It’s just not a nice smell to come back to when you’ve just got some fresh air.

Style has never really been my strong point. The only new style-y thing I got this month was this Dog Judo shirt I’m modelling this month. It’s a little bit small, so I can’t really wear it that often.

I did spot I can get stupendous discounts in Topman in Bournemouth with my NUS card, so I might pop over there at some point. Although I did tell myself that last week, and ended up doing bugger all. Hmm. Maybe if I’ve told you, then I have to go. Well, what are you going to do about it? Flame me? Ooh, I’m scared (no, really, I am).

My nerdy lifestyle

If you can't tell, that's an iPod cable tied as a tie. Lawl.

lolwut?

I’m sure there was a saying by some old guy sometime (probably Marx or someone else I don’t care about) that "Nerdiness is something that burrows inside of you, and not one thing you can remove once embedded", and if someone actually has said that, then they’d be right. I can’t just give up on some of my nerdy endeavours. For one, I can’t just give up things like this blog I’ve been doing for god-knows-how-long now, and for two I wouldn’t know what to do otherwise.

I’ve refrained from buying Modern Warfare 2 (not through lack of trying) because I don’t have the money nor the time. Well, I have the time, just that I’d rather not use that time shooting 12-year-old Americans over the Internet… actually, would I…?

As I blogged about, I am now part of a collab channel on YouTube, which is another +1 nerd points as far as I go. But there are people on there that are cool, I think. But maybe that’s just a biased view on my part. We’re also starting a channel for us IMPs in group C1, which will hopefully star me and everyone in C1 in a few comedy shorts. I’ll tell you when that comes up, don’t worry.

Anyway. Nerdiness is a side that needs to live in order to complete my degree, I think. You can’t do Interactive Media Production without being somewhat nerdy, can you?

My hairstyle

Smooth move there, LL Fail J...

You can’t really tell in these tiny pictures, but I got new hair stuff which I assumed was just a different brand of the same stuff, because it was half price and was only 40p more for 5x the quantity. Turns out it’s not and makes my hair greasy if I don’t do it properly. I need to find how to apply it… properly, then.

Oh, I got another haircut not long after I said I would last month. Straight away I found a nice barbers in Poole which is cheap too. Although I didn’t realise how long they left that silly little mullet thing at the back. I like how it gives a little flick sometimes, but that’s only because I don’t see the back of my head that often.

Probably that will be the last haircut I get in 2009, but I’ll have another soon into 2010, believe me. So result on this side? I’d say so.

Social ineptness

Sunday Morning, Rain is Falling...

Turns out I didn’t snap out out of it. I’ve stayed here in Poole more than that random old guy in the bus station has this month. It’s just too far away from anything fun, and that it costs more than I have to go visit people in Bournemouth. It’s gotten to the point that they’ve found their little niche and that I’m sadly not part of it. Hey ho.

I’m not sitting back and letting it happen. Facebook Chat FTW, and I’m getting to know coursemates. Those who have read my blog, I love you long time. Those who don’t want to read it and want to get to know me more personally, love you longer. But you can do both, I’m sure. =]

Not a risk-taker

No, Santa, you need to cross the bridge, not just hop the fence onto the train tr-... oh GOD!

Risk taker? You’re having a laugh, aren’t you? The riskiest thing I’ve done this month was probably participate on that collab channel. I guess you could call applying for umpteen jobs as risking being employed, but I like money. Hmm.

In fact, I have a risky job which some people know, but it should remain secret forever more (Just for your information, no, I’m not selling myself at night. Poole isn’t great business-wise at night. They’re all asleep with electric blankets) and we’ll see how that pans out. But it’s a fun job, nonetheless, assuming I get paid for it at the end (honestly, I’m not a hooker…).

That’s it.That’s the penultimate 7 Things review before the end of this project and indeed the start of a new decade. What have you got to look forward to in December? Well, you’ve got plenty of things here, as well as your Powerpuff Girl advent calendar. Enjoy! =]
