I am home, back in sunny, warm, friendly Northampton. Woop woop, etc. Time to don my tracksuit bottoms, brush off the sports cap and shave strange lines in my hair. I don’t want to seem like an outsider, do I?
If you’re subscribed to ShortOfTheNorm, obviously you’d know that already:

The first thing I did when I got back? Ate. Okay, okay, I’ve got a bit of a student gut coming on, but hey. Who can say no a good Sunday roast, after the last meal you had was a cold KFC?
But after that – yesterday – I finally met up with a few of the people from NSB I’ve been so longing to see in a while. Those people being Neil, his wife, Harry, Steve, Ryan, Tranny and Ashley. We went to play pool… in town… right by all the toy shops… on one of the last few shopping days left until Christmas. Yep, totally smart idea.
I used the trip as a little excuse to get used to driving again. I hadn’t driven since Halloween, so it’s always going to feel a little dodgy. But as anyone in the UK could tell you, it’s been a little… icy as of late. Needless to say I kind of slid on the way out of the cul-de-sac, but didn’t kill anyone, so that’s always good.
Me being me, I didn’t really think. After putting money on my phone, petrol in the car, making sure my car wasn’t going to die on me on the way there etc, I set off to the free car park down by Pizza Hut in town. Obviously, local’s will know straight away that it shares it’s car park with Toys ‘R Us. Duh, stupid me.
Well I found a space pretty easily. It’s not too hard in the end. Simple logic means that even Christmas shoppers won’t want to park in the furthest point in the car park. Sorted.
We met up in Riley’s, where I needed to buy a membership card. I’ve got no idea whether there’s a Riley’s in Poole, but if there isn’t then they’re missing out on a very comical naming opportunity.
So yes, we played pool. I lost in true Matt Crouch-style pretty much every time. At least I won against Ashley, even though it wasn’t hard. I didn’t get to play against Harry’s brother’s friends, but that’s probably for the best. They looked… urm… good at pool.
Then we went for a bit of McDonalds. You know what that’s like, so there’s little point detailing it here. The only thing of note is the fact that I had my first McDonalds milkshake. I don’t get what everyone raves about. But hey, strawberry in the chocolate milkshake is always a dilemma.
Tonight I get to see Jordan, Timi, John and DAAAAVE! Looking forward to it! =]

William’s Wish Wellingtons.
My god, i’d forgotten about that! Hahahaha, that’s made my day
