Look at that face. Just look at it. Perhaps if I went "RAWW! RAWW! He-he-he-he-he…" you would… probably think I’ve gone crazy. But this, ladies and gents, is Burt Reynolds – and he’s gone missing.
No no not that Burt Reynolds – the one that just so happened to do a voice in All Dogs Go To Heaven – no, not that one. This two year old Shih-Tzu went missing while being walked sometime last month. But why would I be reporting on a missing dog? Isn’t there TV shows I could be sarcastic about? Well, yes, but this dog’s pretty special. This dog knows sign language.
As reported in my local rag, Burt is pretty unique. Him and a gang of five others regularly visit a special school in Lumbertubs to help classmates get over their fear of animals, learn to care for pets and even obey instructions given to him by the deaf children.
He even detects when someone is distressed and goes and comforts them. HOW ADORABLE IS THAT.
Burt’s even disabled himself, but unlike any other disabled animals we could mention, he doesn’t have his own set of wheels. After being in a dog fight when he was younger, his head tilts to one side. Is there nothing about this dog that isn’t adorable?
But alas, poor Burt is missing. His girlfriend Sophia Loren (no joke) must be pining over his loss, and the kids are sad too. This dog needs to be found, or by God the world’s a sadder place than I’d imagined. You’ve read my posts and you know that’s pretty, pretty low.
He went missing somewhere around the Manor Fields area in Bletchley, so if you’re anywhere around there and spot a lost dog perhaps signing for directions, then give Claire-Louise a ring on 07912 142603. There’s a £1000 reward for his safe return (and perhaps a warm feeling inside, too)
